One of the all time greats in pulp fiction, Howard Philips Lovecraft was born in Providence, United States of America in 1890. Largely ignored during his lifetime, he became a household name in supernatural horror after his untimely death at age 46.
Ambrose Bierce
(June 24, 1842 – ?)
Bitter Bierce, as he was called by his contemporaries, was an American journalist and writer. He published classics such as the ‘Devil’s Dictionary’ and many stories based on his experience as a soldier during the American civil war.
E.A. Poe
(January 19, 1809 – October 7, 1849)
Best known for his poetry, Poe is widely regarded a master of gothic horror. He died destitute in a delirious state at age 40.
